Alvin Gilmer Taylor, 83, died at Mobile Infirmary, on December 14, 2016.  Alvin was a member of County Line Missionary Baptist.  He was a native of Mobile County, graduating from Semmes High School  and a resident of Washington County, Alabama.  Taylor served his country in the US Army. He married Ruth Adams in 1970.  After living in Mobile County for some time, working at Brookley Field and retiring from Scott Paper Company, they moved to Deer Park in 1982. This move took much persuasion from Alvin, Saying, “He” had decided they would become country folks.”  Taylor enjoyed working the land, raising cattle, and managing timber.  His wife, Ruth, helped him cruise the timber.  Alvin loved watching wildlife, and everything about nature.  One would have to say his favorite hobby was simply, working.  Alvin loved his family and everybody.  He was an avid Alabama Fan.  His grandchildren and great grandchildren called him, “PawPaw.”
