Alvin “Bo” Townsend, June 26, 1939 – January 12, 2014.
Alvin “Bo” Townsend, 74, of Belton. Mr. Townsend died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at his home in Belton. Mr. Townsend was born June 26, 1939 in Temple, the son of E. E. and Jewel (Emerson) Townsend. He worked for the Temple Police Department for 14 years, and was a butcher for HEB for 21 years. He also worked more recently was security with Belton High School for 10 years.
He was a musician. He was an entertainer with the Central Texas Sportsman Club where he played with the Jamboree each year. He was Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Mandy Townsend of Belton; one son Bobby Townsend of Troy; four daughters Pamela Shafer of Pendleton, Sherri Williamson of Belton, Tammy Graves of Temple, and Terry Townsend of Lubbock; one sister La Nell Tichacek of East Bernard; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
