Alvin “Al†C. Long, Jr., 321 Lansbury Drive, Danville died at his residence, Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Born February 1, 1951 in Danville, he was the son of the late Alvin Cecil Long, Sr. and the late Louise Gregory Long. He was a devoted father and husband, and had a love for the beach, flying and astronomy. He previously worked in Atlanta as a nurse respiratory therapist and also worked as a life guard. He graduated from Wake Technical Institute, was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and also was a graduate of the two year aviation maintenance program at Atlanta Area Tech. He was last employed as a nurse with Reidsville Medical Associates in Reidsville. He was married to Patricia “Trish†Walker Long of the residence. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Emily Grace Long, also of the residence.
