Homegoing celebration honoring Alvenia Elizabeth Moore Paschel was held on Saturday Oct.
Alvenia Elizabeth was employed by the Children’s Aid Society as a homemaker and social worker’s assistant. Her passion and advocacy for children led to numerous awards, recognitions, and accommodations for outstanding service and reporting. She was also employed by the Shelby County School System and the University of Montevallo.
Elizabeth was a tremendous supporter and proponent of education and life-long learning. She was a passionate change agent, promoting self-sufficiency, independence, and Family stabilization. Furthermore, she was a youth Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, philanthropist, and overall pillar in the community.
She leaves to forever cherish her memory: five children, Cynthia Moore, of Montevallo, AL, Aretha Paschel-Alexander, of Jacksonville, NC, Benita Paschel, of Oklahoma, City, OK, Demetrius Paschel, of Birmingham, AL, and Judy Paschel, of Montevallo, AL; four brothers, Willie J. Moore (Willie Mae), (twins) James Moore and John Moore (Mary Elizabeth), Julius Daniel Moore (Polly), and Elzie Moore, all of Montevallo, AL; grandchildren, Karen Hicks, Willie Hicks, Jr., Brittany Moore, Jason, Julius, Jordan, and Jocelyn Alexander, of North Carolina, Reshundra Brown, (Andre), Meritio Brown, Ray Pharris, Jr., and Jaden Paschel, eleven great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
