Alva L. Grout, 88, died Monday, February 11, 2008. He was born on January 22, 1920 in rural Kalona. He was the son of Amos and Carrie (Schrock) Grout. Alva graduated from Center High School in rural Kalona and graduated from Iowa State University in 1950. He was united in marriage with Wilma Walker on June 12, 1949 in Des Moines. Al served his country from 1942-1945 in the U. S. Army during WW II.
