Alton F. Phillips III of Duxbury died peacefully on January 16th at Season’s Hospice in Milton. Born in Quincy, MA on January 8, 1948 son of the late Alton F. and Eleanor P. (Nolan) Phillips Jr. He was educated in the Quincy schools, a graduate of North Quincy High School and Eastern Nazarene College with a Bachelor’s degree in Education. He went on the receive his Master’s degree from Bridgewater State. Alton was a passionate teacher of 4th and 5th grade in the Duxbury Public Schools for over 42 years. He also worked with the family business, A Wing and A Prayer, in Downtown Plymouth and is survived by: His sons, Alton F. Phillips IV of Brooklyn, NY and Geoffrey B. Phillips of Duxbury; his former wife Carla (Green) Phillips; his sister JoAnn Ciccone and her husband Bob of Duxbury and several nieces and nephews.
