Alton Earl Wilson, a 79 year old native of Daphne, Alabama and long time resident of Semmes, Alabama died on December 15th in Mobile. Mr. Wilson graduated from Fairhope High School in 1954 and enlisted in the U.S. Army. After being honorably discharged, he enrolled at Springhill College and after one year transferred to the University of Alabama, where he graduated with a degree in Accounting in 1961. He then enjoyed a career serving in management positions at various textile mills around the southeast. After retiring from the textile industry he worked as a vice president and financial advisor for Primareica Financial Group until his death.
Mr. Wilson was predeceased by his parents, Bryant and Martha Wilson, a son, Alton Todd Wilson, brothers J.B. Wilson and Bobby Wilson, and a sister, Louise Dahlen. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Phelps Wilson, brother, Charles (Jean) Wilson, a son, Anthony (Sally) Wilson, daughters Elizabeth and Jessye Wilson, grandchildren Zachary, Mallory, Reynolds and Walker Wilson and Isis Johnson. He was a faithful member of Semmes First Baptist Church, Lodge #878, F&AM of Semmes and a past member of various service clubs.
