Althea L. Hesler Jones, 97, Anderson, died February 16, 2003 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after a brief illness. She was born April 25, 1905 in Elwood, Indiana, and resided in Anderson, Indiana. In January of 1941, she and her family moved to Marion and then to Anderson in 1943. She was the manager of the mailing department for Ward Stilson Company in Anderson. She later worked for Roselyn Bakery at the Anderson Mall and JC Penney Retail Store. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Anderson and was one of the oldest active members. She volunteered the past several years in the dining area at Southdale Towers. She also sold Tupperware. She was honored nationally as the Resident of the Year for her work at Southdale Towers. She is survived by her Two Children: Ronald & wife Ann Jones of Zepheyrhills, Florida. Anita Metz of Sebring, Florida. Half Sister: Jerry Higgs of Middletown. Six Grandchildren: Sharon Jones, Carol & husband Al Knack, Laura & husband Curt Klein; all of Akron, Ohio. Tom & wife Cyndy Jones of Birmingham, Alabama. Scott & wife Jillian Jones of Columbia, South Carolina. Robin & husband Brent Jackson of Michigan. Ten Great Grandchildren: Andrea, Nicki, Derek, Tony, Darci, Danny, Chandler, Tasmin, Timmy and Mark. One Great Great Grandchild: Tyler. She was preceded by her Husband whom she married June 19, 1924 in Elwood: Thurman Jones. Brother: Leslie Hesler. Sister: Esther Guard. Infant Grandson: Scott David. Son-in-law: Joseph Metz.
