Alta Mae Moore Hartzell, 89, Anderson, died April 23, 2007 at Countryside Manor, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born April 4, 1918 in Jennings County, Indiana, and resided in Anderson most of her life. She was a homemaker who raised 5 boys. She also worked at Kressges Five & Dime and Ward Stillsons. Alta loved to cook and enjoyed reading.
She is survived by her four children: Noland ”Gene”& wife Judy Hartzell, Larry Lee & wife Rae Dean Hartzell, Charles W. & wife Connie Hartzell and Jesse W. Hartzell Jr.; daughter-in-law: Shirley Hartzell; four sisters: Margaret Bridges, Helen & husband Richard Garrett, Joann Kress and June & husband Fred Swegman, all of Greensburg. Grandchildren: Theresa Hartzell, Brad & wife Jami Hartzell, Carrie & husband Troy Jebson, Tonya & husband Mike Mallory, Larry & wife Jessica Hartzell, Fawn Elliott, David & wife Jennifer Hartzell, Steven & wife Amy Hartzell, Amy & husband Tony Brandon, Leslie & husband Brandon Muir and Sara Jane Jarvis. Also surviving are 26 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Caregiver: Tammy Bartlett. Special friend: Etria Stonebarger. A special thanks to Countryside Manor, Dr. Bush and Dr. Jetty.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Hartzell Sr who passed away in 1982; parents, Otis & Mary Wheeldon Moore; two grandchildren, Mike Hartzell and Danny Hartzell; one great great grandchild, Terrance and three brothers, Herbert Moore, Charles Moore and Dale Moore.
