Alta Mae Clark passed away peacefully in her home on August 3, 2021, surrounded by her surviving children.
She was born August 6, 1937, in Newport, Arkansas to Lucille (Lawhorn) Clark and Leslie Clark.
She is preceded in death by her son Franklin Clark, grandson Christopher Martin Jr, and sister Alta Fae Parsons. Surviving are her children: Gwen (Rickey) Burton, Cathy Clark, Teresa (Scott) Phillips, Randy (Cathy) Fischer, and Trina Clark.
She held many roles in her 83 years that she adored; daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and many unique versions of her blessed role as grandmother including Grandma, Mammoo, Moo Moo. Her legacy of grandchildren includes 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
She was known for being very direct, saying what came to her mind, and never mixing her words, resulting in many humorous situations. She showed her love by cooking for her family and friends. She also enjoyed quilting, canning, old Western movies, and cooking shows. Fiercely independent and tough as nails, she taught her children to work hard, think for themselves, and take no gruff from anyone.
