Almetia Hargrove was born on July 23, 1935 to the late Alfred and Eula Williams. She departed this life on October 28, 2017 at her home.
Almetia accepted the Lord as her Personal Savior after being witnessed to by her sister Dorcas. Upon receiving Salvation, she and her family became members of Christ Pentecostal Temple where she served in ministry until her health became a challenge.
Almetia and Joe Hargrove were married on February 4, 1957. Together they raised five daughters and one son. They also had many foster children. Almetia had the heart of a servant. She frequently opened her family’s home to those who needed her. The Hargrove home was often filled with family, friends and laughter. This woman of God was known for her gift of generosity and for helping others. She believed in giving of herself and her substance whenever there was a need. In her spare time she enjoyed cooking for her family and loved ones. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had an unmatched sense of humor. She had a close knit relationship with her sisters, they called each other every day. Without a doubt a void has been left in the hearts of many.
She was preceded in death by her husband Joe Hargrove and leaves to cherish her memory and legacy daughters Angela Hargrove, Jacquelene Scruggs (Fred), Kimberly Wiggins (Antonio), Kindra Holloway (David), Tiffany Hargrove, son Theodore Hargrove; eleven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two sisters Emma Meekins, Dorcas Johnson (Robert), two brothers Alfred Williams (Lucy), Theodore Williams; three sisters in-law; Loving and devoted Nurse Marie Michel “Mary” and a host of nieces and nephews; a bouquet of god-children, an abundance of friends and a large spiritual family.
