Alma Hillmann Becklund December 5, 1913 – March 29, 2012 Alma Hillmann Becklund was born on December 5, 1913 to parents Gustav Jr. and Emilie (Longheinrich) Hillmann in rural Nassau, Minnesota. She was the second of six children. Alma completed four years of high school and one year of teacher’s education which certified her to teach elementary grades. She taught for four years in a one-room school near the family’s farm. She met the love of her life, Orville Becklund, at a country dance. They were married from August 28, 1938 until Orville died in April, 2000, over 61 years. Together, they had four daughters Diana (deceased), Ila Gravely (James) of Danville, VA, Ann Erickson (Robert) of Guffey, CO, and Eve Nagode (Bob) of Canon City, CO.
