Allison Abel, 86, of Fortville, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. She was born August 14, 1934 in Fortville, Indiana. Allison was a 1952 graduate of the old Fortville High School, received a nursing degree from St. Mary’s College in South Bend and later graduated from beauty school.
She worked at Hazel’s Beauty Shop in Fortville and transitioned to raising her family. She was a past Honored Queen of Jobs Daughters and actively participated in Jobs Daughters with her granddaughters. Allison’s passion was raising her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Allison is survived by son Ron Abel of Fortville; daughter Mari (Steve) Quiggins of Fortville; daughter Audra (Joe) Tilton of Pendleton; grandchildren: Lisa (Joe) Shetterley; Stephanie Crispens; Holly, Brittani, Katie and Cameron Abel; Steve (Missy) Quiggins Jr. and Mike (Christi) Quiggins; and Emily and Andrew Tilton; Great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Hanna and Levi Shetterley; Haley and Kayla Abel; Ava Green; Adalynn and Asher Ledger; Ana, John, Audrey, Gannon and Jax Quiggins
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Abel, sons Robin and Brian Abel, father Wilbur Mollenkopf, mother and step-father Dorothy and Frank Moore and brother Stephen Moore.
