Allen W. Knotts, 79, of Anderson, passed away on March 23, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on April 27, 1938 in Randolph County, and resided most of his life in Anderson.
Allen graduated from Gaston High School. He served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He retired from Delco Remy. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Daleville. He liked to restore and show antique cars (particularly his 1939 Ford), play golf and cards with his friends, and especially loved to spend time with his family.
Allen is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mardis Knotts; children, Stephen Knotts of Anderson, Michael (Beth) Knotts of Longville, MN, Wendy (Dan) Mays of Portland, IN, Terri (Dan) Strong of Cicero, and LeeAnn (Dan) O’Bryant of St. Mary’s, GA; grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Eric, Nickolas, Stephanie, Briana, Tabitha, Anna, Bianca, Harrison, Grissom, Noah, Nick, and Bryce; and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters, Thelma Hemphill and Donna Slain, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Archie Knotts; son, Chris Arbuckle; three brothers; and two sisters.
