On November 13, 2007, Allen W. Kirby of Glen Burnie passed on after a brief illness. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59+ years, Gloria; loving children Marsha Novak, Anne MacSorely, Steven Kirby, and Gail Kirby; 10 grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Michael Kirby, and sister Doris Wagg. Allen graduated from Calvin Coolidge High School in 1945. He attended Montgomery Jr. College and went on to graduate from University of Maryland in 1952. While in college, he belonged to Delta Sigma Pi Fraternity. After graduating, he worked for various employers – The Brunswick Corporation, Davidson Transfer & Storage Company, National Products Company, McCormick Division (1966-1973), Interstate Commerce Commission (1973-1975), and most recently Military Traffic Management Command(1975-1989). Allen belonged to the National Defense Transportation Association.
