Allen J. Lambert, 80, of Gulf Breeze, died on Saturday, December 19, 2015, totally surrounded by his loving family. After leaving Thaxton, MS, the Lambert family moved to Mobile, AL, where Allen attended school and graduated from Murphy High School in 1953. He then joined the US Army. While in the Army, God called him to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Upon discharge, he entered the University of Alabama, graduating in 1958, and became a CPA in 1961. He returned to Mobile to practice accounting there until 1966, at which time he moved to Gadsden, AL, where he became a partner in a large, regional accounting firm; moved to Pensacola Beach in 1985 and opened his own practice. At the time of his retirement in 2008, after 50 years of practicing accounting, he was certified to practice accounting in five states. Allen loved Pensacola Beach. For over 25 years, he has been on the “Rice Team”, cooking rice for the Krewe of Wrecks Red Beans and Rice during Mardi Gras.
