Allen F. Shoup, 88, of Freeport, died Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at Presence St. Joseph Nursing Center. Born April 4, 1927, in Lanark he was the son of Boyd and Evelyn (Haugh) Shoup.
He married Norma Hartman in 1947 and on June 21, 1975, he married Ellen Kastning. He graduated from Lanark High School in 1945. Allen Farmed near Lanark until 1970 and then worked as a farm equipment salesman for Warner Farm Service and Ford New Holland until his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Surviving is his wife, Ellen of Freeport; his children, Linda L. (Ron) Miller, Debra (Jayme) Linder, Emily (Ian) Bailey, Karl (Donna) Kastning, Steven (Theresa) Kastning; 1 sister-in-law, Betty Shoup; his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Ellen’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Emmert.
