Allen Egerton Boyles, 88, of Belton passed away on Wednesday, February 27,2019 at Baylor-Scott and White Hospital in Temple.

Allen was born on August 9, 1930 in Dallas, Texas to Ulysses Charles and Clemmie Iola (Egerton) Boyles. He attended the College of Texas at Arlington followed by a career with his father's refrigeration supply company in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. In 1953 he joined the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1955. Allen’s career as an engineer for the government contractor CECOM brought him to faraway places which included Germany, Korea and Vietnam.

Stateside he worked at Fort Monmouth in New Jersey and finished up his career at Fort Hood in Killeen Texas prior to retirement. Allen had been married to Gisela Stotz, the mother of his children Chuck and Barbara Boyles, living in both Germany and Manasquan, New Jersey with them. By 1980, Allen moved back to Texas to help care for his ailing parents. He then married Young Ae Kim and together with their daughter Sandy, began a life in Belton. Allen was a proud American who reveled in engaging in political debate. A daily newspaper reader, he was known to often submit a “letter to the editor”.

He valued politics, current events, and coffee. Allen was preceded in death by a brother Reginald Charles (Chuck) Boyles of California in 2005. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Kim Boyles of Belton; a son Chuck Boyles and his wife Gina of Brick, New Jersey; daughters Barbara Boyles McEvoy and her husband Tom of Little Silver, New Jersey; and Sandra Boyles Parker and her husband Jason of Belton.

Also surviving are six grandchildren: Kevin Boyles, Joseph Boyles, Marissa Boyles, Robert McEvoy, Claire McEvoy, and Braeden Parker.
