Allen E. Sullivan, age 91, husband for 59 years of his late and beloved wife, Ann Sizer Sullivan, died peacefully at home on July 18th. Allen was born in Bridgeport on June 16, 1923, the son of Thomas and Molly Sullivan. He was a Fairfield resident for the past 87 years. Besides his wife he was predeceased by his brother Tom and sister Cynara “Sona” Parrott. He graduated from St. Thomas School in 1937, Roger Ludlowe H.S., 1941, The College of William and Mary, B.A., 1947 and Fairfield University, M.A., 1953. He received a fellowship to Williams College in the summer of 1965 and studied at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland in the summer of 1990.During World War II he served as a corporal in the USMC in the Pacific Theater of war. He retired after a 40-year career as a teacher and coach at Fairfield Prep and Trumbull H.S. He was a 57-year member of the Fairfield Hook and Ladder Company # 1, and its president since 1989. He was also a longtime loyal fan of the N.Y. Yankees and Green Bay Packers. After his retirement in 1988 he enjoyed attending high-school sporting events and traveling with his wife, Ann.
