Allen C. Hays, 76, of Middletown, passed away on April 19, 2016, at his residence. He was born on April 18, 1940, in Muncie, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Selma.
Allen graduated from Muncie Central High School, Class of 1958. He retired as the owner of Aljeano’s Restaurant for 11 years, Boston Concessions for 30 years, and Muncie and Ski Hi Drive-In. He was a member of Selma United Methodist Church, Muncie Jaycees, JUNTO, Muncie Moose Lodge, and past Fire Chief of Selma Fire Department. He was an avid golfer and member at Crestview and Albany Golf Courses.
Allen is survived by his loving spouse, whom he married September 9, 1961, L. Jeanne (Hammer) Hays; children, Deborah (Jeff) Schmidt of Ft. Wayne, IN, Jacqueline (Ty) Bousman of Middletown, IN, Michael (Jama) Hays of Anderson, IN, and Michelle (Scott) Matthias of Inman, SC; grandchildren, Abigail (Jake) Shores, Justin Scott, Alexandra Hays, Kayla (Bryan) Back, Morgan (Kyle) Brinson, Emily (Kyle) Clemens, Joshua (Andrea) Bousman, Natalie Matthias, Ian Hays, Drake Schmidt, and Kyle Matthias; great-grandchildren, Cohen, Lathan, Blakely, and Cooper.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Rosabelle (Snider) Hays; father, Wilbur Hays; sister, Ruthann Hull; brother, Clyde Hays.
