Allen H. “Al” Walsh, 61, of Washington, IL, formerly of LaSalle, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2014.
Al was born May 15, 1952 in Wilmington, DE to H. Allen and Dorothy Grace (Rivers) Walsh. He married Marlene “Molly” Brown on July 3, 1971 in Rochelle. Al worked for 35 years in the printing industry, rising from press helper to plant manager. For all of his hard work and ambition, he never missed any of his kids’ practices or games.
He enjoyed a cold beer, a good cigar, yelling at “Da Bears” or napping to the Cubbies. Al was a great coach, doting grandfather, loyal friend and chicken whisperer with a razor sharp wit. Of all his hobbies and interests, for him, family always came first. He will be greatly missed by anyone lucky enough to have known him.
Al is survived by his best friend and wife of 42 years, Molly; three children, Jason (Brenda) Walsh of Herriman, UT, Elizabeth “Libby” (Ron) Sinopoli of Bartlett and Emily Walsh of Washington and six grandchildren, Makayla, Payton and Jacob Walsh and Sofia, Greyson and Everly Sinopoli. He was preceded in death by his parents. Pallbearers will be Jason Walsh, Ron Sinopoli, Steve Probasco, Jarrett Ward, Lynn Brown, Payton Walsh, Andrew Probasco and Bill Walsh.
