Allegra Fey (DJ Lexifey) Winn of Denver, Colorado passed away on Sept 1, 2022 after a 20-year battle with Lupus, recently worsened by addictions. 33 years old, she was born March 15, 1989 in Denver. Her childhood homes included Mercer Island (WA), Highlands Ranch and Franktown, Colorado. She is survived by her parents, Jordan and Janica Winn of Franktown; brother, Jackson Winn of Denver; grandmother Hazel Purdue, aunts Donna (Wes) Anderegg, Michelle Barnes, Holly Purdue; uncle Tom (Kari) Purdue; 10 cousins, and 11 first cousins once removed. Predeceased by grandparents Eleanor and Philip Winn, and grandfather Thomas Purdue.
Allegra graduated cum laude from Ponderosa High school in 2007, where she was usually 1st violin in orchestra, and enjoyed Model UN, World of Difference, which promoted diversity and tolerance, and National Honor Society. She was recognized by Parker Rotary Club as Student of the Month for January, 2007.
Allegra attended University of Denver, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing. She was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority, and participated on the Equestrian Team in her freshman year.
An avid equestrian for more than a decade, Allegra loved the show ring, winning many classes and ribbons. With her champion Half Arabian, LJR Mataboutcha +/, she won two UPHA Challenge Cups, an AHA Saddle Seat Medal, and was Region 8 Saddle Seat Equitation Reserve Champion for 2005 and 2006, earning competition spots at Arabian Youth Nationals for those years.
At heart, Allegra was a musician. She began playing electric guitar at 6, delighting her parents with “Stairway to Heaven”. She loved violin, singing, drums, and keyboard, but when Case played the turn tables at her high school graduation party, she found her ultimate thing – the musical expression she would devote her talent to.
For the rest of her life, she would be LexiFey, spinning at every opportunity and loving every moment of it. There are too many venues, events, promotions, parties, festivals to fully acknowledge. Production company collaborations included: Outbreak, Diluzional, Party Guru, Joy, Beyond, The Distinguished. Among the DJs she performed with were: Case, Kaia, Adam Stark, EK, Eccotek, Bassline, Digga (RIP), Leah Luna, MLE, Paul Anthony, Joman, Jared Lee Harris.
Burning Man.
LexiFey was devoted to Burning Man and embraced it’s 10 principles as her highest values. She lived them to the best of her ability, most especially: gifting, radical self-expression, participation, communal effort and immediacy. The symbols for each of the principles were tattooed on her forearms.
In July, 2021, LexiFey completed a drug rehabilitation program at Parker Valley Hope, and returned to us a clear, happy, vibrant light once again, for all too brief a time.
