He was born in Boston on April 5, 1931, the son of Erling and Margaret (Smith) Holmberg.
Allan was a retail furniture salesman.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.
Allan enjoyed sailing and carpentry and watching NASCAR and hockey.
His wife, the former Gayle H. Young, predeceased him on May 9, 2007.
Survivors include a son, Allan J. Jr.
He was predeceased by a brother, Warren Holmberg.
