Allan Wehrspann, 97, of Ottosen, Iowa died Friday, February 21, 2020 at Algona Manor in Algona, Iowa. Allan Fred, son of Edward and Bertha (Habeger) Wehrspann, was born January 12, 1923 on his parents’ farm near Ottosen. He remained a lifelong resident of Ottosen.  Allan graduated from Ottosen High School in 1941, then completed 1 1/2 years at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. Allan served in the United States Army in the Phillipines and Japan during World War II. He was honorably discharged with numerous decorations in 1946. September 26, 1948 Allan and Charlotte Jacobson were united in marriage at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Fort Dodge, Iowa. The couple made their home and raised their seven children on the family farm near Ottosen. Allan was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in West Bend, the Ottosen Legion, card club for 65 years, and West Bend Golf & Country Club. Survivors include Allan’s wife of 71 years Charlotte Wehrspann of Ottosen, IA; children:  Arlys (Jim) Carlson of Firestone, CO, Wayne (Cathy) Wehrspann of Jenks, OK, Amy (Steve) Marquardt of Woodbury, MN, Joye (Phil) Chea of Broomfield, CO, Jana (Kenny) Bratland of Dakota City, IA, Mary Thul of Ottosen, IA, and Theodore (Genetta) Wehrspann of Tea, SD; grandchildren: Marnita, Jim, Christy, Monique, Molly, Jill, Heidi, Ken, Kevin, Karl, Mitch, Matt and Charlee; 19 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Allan was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law Howard Klemme and Ralph Jacobson.
