Aline Cornwall Gillies, of Southport CT died peacefully on Friday, August 26, 2016 in her home. Aline was born in 1919 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Laurence M. Cornwall and Marian Paige. She graduated from Miss Porter’s School in 1938, and in 1941 married James Perry Gillies, Jr. of Winnetka, IL. Aline and Jim moved to Fairfield in 1942, and shared their life together until Jim’s death in February 2004. For many years they also owned a home in Wellfleet, MA where they spent their summers.
