Alicia Joan Kelley, 75, from Newnan, Ga passed away peacefully Sunday, October 3, 20201 at Sacred Journey Hospice in McDonough, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Mary (Morgan) Kelley and brothers Ronald H. Kelley and Robert Kelley. She is survived by her daughters Melinda (Jim) McWilliams and Kelley Carter; grandchildren Rochele (Justin) Willis, Melanie McWilliams, Tommy Carter , Morgan Connor and Adessa (Tyler) Koster; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many cousins. Joan graduated from Newnan High School, went to the University of West Georgia before starting a long career as a civilian for the U.S. Army retiring from the Army Safety Center at Ft. Rucker Alabama. She moved to Newnan fifteen years ago and worked part-time for a few years as the office manager at the United Way office in Newnan and published a book about being a caregiver to Alzheimer’s patients “Every Day a New Adventure”. She tried retirement again briefly relocating to the northeast Georgia mountains near Cornelia, GA before returning home to Newnan.
