Alice W. Wandel Carr, 90, Anderson, passed away December 29, 2008 at Community Hospital, Anderson after an extended illness.
She was born October 14, 1918 in Lakeview, Michigan, and resided in Anderson. She was raised in Michigan where she graduated from high school in 1937, lived in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and moved to Anderson in 1950.
Alice retired in 1976 from General Motors after 30 years of service. She was a member of the UAW Local #662 and the VFW Auxiliary. Alice also bowled many years.
She is survived by her children, Larry Sylvia Carr of Anderson, Lois Cary Ronald Fenwick of Daleville, Charles Linda Carr of Marietta, Georgia and Thomas Bruce Kay Carr of Anderson; half-brother, James Wandel of Lakeland, Florida; grandchildren, Cary Fenwick, Lisa Ratican, Scott Fenwick, Larry J. Carr and Perry Carr; great grandchildren, Andrew Fenwick, Rachel Ratican, Kayleigh Carr, Alyssa Ratican and Tiler Carr. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry E. Carr who passed away in 1976; parents, Bruce & Pearl Goodwill Wandel; brother, William Wandel; sister, Charlotte Surface and grandson, Gregory Carr.
