Alice Winmill, 74 of Wendell, passed away peacefully on September 9th, 2020.
Alice Winmill was born in Alamo Texas on December 22, 1945.
Her family migrated to the Blackfoot area when she was a teen and it was during this time, she met Vern Winmill. Alice and Vern moved to Wendell in 1964 with their oldest son Vern Jr. and later welcomed their second son Mike in 1971.
Alice started working at the Stockman’s Club in 1966 and later became the owner in 1973. Alice continued running the bar until her health declined in 2010.
Alice was an avid fisherwoman and in her spare time would try to go fishing as much as possible. Many memories made were on the banks of her favorite fishing places CJ Strike, Magic Reservoir and Oster Lakes.
Alice met people from all walks of life in her time running the bar and all were always welcomed to her home for Monday night dinners. Alice loved to cook, especially for the people she loved and cared about. Everyone always knew that you never had to worry about figuring out dinner on Mondays because Alice always made enough to feed a small army. When Alice wasn’t cooking or fishing, she was tending her gardens.
She is survived by: her seven sisters & one brother; two son’s – Vern Jr., and Mike (Amy); grandchildren – Amber (Levi), Zach (Hannah), Kayla (Joe), Tony, Elizabeth, Remington, Ryland and Estella; and great grandchildren – Julia, Greta, Tracen, Dylleini, Reya and Liana. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
