Alice R. Slootmaker, aged 91, passed away on August 23, 2005. She was born April 12, 1914, in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to Edward Axel Carlson and Emma Ann Beck Carlson. She was married to Wilmarth “Willie” Shafer Slootmaker on October 28, 1939, in Ada, Michigan. Mrs. Slootmaker spent most of her life in Grand Rapids and Horton Bay, Michigan. She moved to Flagstaff in 1999 to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader and loved good food and friends. She is survived by her daughter Ann Beck (Novak) and granddaughter, Emma Beck Novak.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmarth, who passed away on December 20, 1963.
