Alice M. J. Scheffler Alice M. J. Scheffler, 88, formerly of Bethlehem, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2011, in Cedarbook in Allentown. She was the wife of the late Ernest J. Scheffler, who died in 1985. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Katie (Kern) Kratzer. She was a member of Trinity UCC of Bethlehem. Survivors: daughters, Patricia A. Kratzer and her husband Elsworth of Whitehall with whom she resided, and Betty A. Papovich and her companion Dave Harvey of Northampton; sons, Richard E. Scheffler and his wife Dorothy of Bath and Robert J. Scheffler and his wife Patricia of Longwood, FL; sister, Edith Sanders of Bethlehem; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren.
