Alice Trejo Ramirez of Oxnard, California passed peacefully and entered eternal life with her God in Heaven on Thursday, January 17, 2013 with her family by her side at St. John’s Hospital in Oxnard. Alice was born on November 5th, 1937 to Cirilo Trejo & Guadalupe Zuniga in Oxnard, California. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings Angela Cortez, Andrea Trejo, and Frank Trejo, as well as her son Phillip Ramirez.

Alice worked over 25 years at Heublein/Del Monte/Nabisco (“the chileria”) and at Mulhardt Farms for over 10 seasons. She also taught preschool at the City of Oxnard for 14 years and was fondly known as “Teacher Grandma” by hundreds of her beloved preschoolers. Her hobbies included dancing, singing and storytelling, and she also loved coaching soccer for over 25 years. She was inducted as Ventura County’s first Latina female soccer coach at Del Sol park in 1980. She was a die-hard 49ers fan and avid Betty Boop collector. She was also well-known for the delicious authentic Mexican cuisine she prepared for family & friends.
