Alice Mae Haller, 86, passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016, in Bountiful, Utah. She was born December 23, 1929, at the family home in Easton, Wayne County, Ohio. Alice was the twelfth of fourteen children born to Albert Daniel and Anna Mary Bechtol Porr.

She attended Country School #10 in Easton, Ohio. During her years at Chippewa Local High School, Alice began dating Dale Haller. She graduated in 1947. After Dale graduated the following year, they parted ways when he enlisted in the Navy. She worked at various jobs over the next few years and after two proposals, Dale finally convinced Alice to marry him.

They were married in Patuxent River, Maryland in 1955, and began their military travels that took them to Indiana, Hawaii, Iowa and Iceland. Their family eventually grew to include three daughters.

After Dale retired from the military they returned to settle in Doylestown joining all of their siblings who were in the vicinity. In 1975 the family made one last move to Utah where they settled in Kaysville.

Alice loved being at home and was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, quilting, gardening and being with her family, especially her five grandchildren – and later ten great-grandchildren. After Dale’s second retirement, they continued to travel throughout the United States and Canada.

Alice is survived by Dale, her husband of 60 years; daughters Barbara (Kevin) Van Ausdal, Lisa (Douglas) Baker, and Diane; five grandchildren Justin (Crystal) Van Ausdal, Megan (Michael) Pope, Katie (Dallin) Hunter; Bonnie (Joseph) Chambers, and Brian Van Ausdal; and ten great-grandchildren. Alice is also survived by a sister Betty Miller in Georgia and brother Gene Porr in Ohio.
