Alice was born December 26, 1929 in Kingsburg, CA to George Meyers of Missouri and Helen (Whitmore) Meyers of Michigan. She passed away peacefully with her beloved family at her side in Bakersfield, CA on February 3, 2018, she was 88 years old. Alice attended Kingsburg grammar schools and graduated from Kingsburg Union High School in 1947. Alice married Robert F. Smith June 15, 1947 and they had four children. In 1956 they moved to the old Tidewater Oil Co. Lease at Carneros, north of McKittrick, CA. In 1958 the family moved to Taft, CA and Alice lived the rest of her life in Taft. Alice was proud of being a housewife and raising her four children. After her children were older, many people will remember Alice from running Country Boy Produce in Ford City for many years and co-owning Bob’s Feed and Seed store with her late husband. Alice also worked as a receptionist at the Taft College Children’s Center.
