Alice Louise Matthias, 79, a 44-year Eatontown resident, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2016. Alice was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Cyril John and Rebecca H. (Evans) Matthias. Alice was employed by Progressive Life Insurance Company, retiring as Asst. VP, Underwriting, after 35 years of service. She was also a proud member of the Eatontown Senior Center. Alice was predeceased by her parents and by her brother, Cyril John Matthias, Jr. She is survived by her beloved niece Jean Matthias Breheney and her husband, Seán Breheney, of San Jose, CA, and by cousins Don and Chris Evans of Lancaster, PA. She was a devoted daughter, loving aunt, avid reader, joyous traveler, and lover of animals; she will be sorely missed by her many dear friends. A special debt of thanks is owed to the loving, generous friends who constantly went above and beyond to make the last years of Alice’s life possible: Bob & Jeanne Suffill, Barbara Caniff, Bub & Nancy Patterson, Debbie Richardson, and Judy Blair.
