Okeechobee – Alice Johns Sweat entered into the Kingdom of Heaven on August 31, 2021. She was born August 6, 1948 in the Hammocks of the Big Cypress Indian Reservation to Barfield Johns and Julia Billie. She was a devoted member of First Indian Baptist Church. She was a selfless child of God. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports, read the bible, spending time with her family, and hunting. She has a passion to preserve the Creek language and developed the emersion for children.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bumpy Dale Nunez; daughter, Alana Sweat; brothers, Noah Johns, Archie Johns; sisters, Agnes Bert, Lois Smith, and Maude Frank.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 20 years, James “Papa” Sweat, of Brighton; brothers, Jimmy Smith (Rosie), of Hollywood, Billy Johns, of Big Cypress; sisters, Jenny Johns, of Okeechobee, Leoda Tommie, of Okeechobee; sons, David Nunez (Anita), of Okeechobee, Boogie Nunez (Peggy), of Okeechobee, Dallas Nunez (Denanna), of Okeechobee, Mason Sweat, of Port St. Lucie; daughters, Theresa Frost (Steve), of Brighton, Caroline Sweat, of Port St. Lucie, Julia Smith, of Fort Pierce; 22 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
