Alice Joan Laur, 89, of Centralia, formerly of Woodlawn, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia. Alice was born May 1, 1930 in Ashley, the daughter of William N. Wilson and Dollie E. (Hogshead) Wilson. She married Joseph D. Laur on January 18, 1961 in Nashville and he preceded her in death on October 3, 2001.
Alice is survived by her daughter: Pamela Clark and husband Tony of Centralia; one sister: Barbara Dieterich of Belleville; one granddaughter: Julie Loyd of Herrin; one grandson: Kevin Simmons and fiancé Sarah Mills of Centralia; three great grandchildren: Ashley Perrigan and husband Billy of Addieville, Dustin Sloat and wife Alexandra of Walnut Hill, and Jared Simmons of Centralia; three great-great grandchildren: Gideon Perrigan, Brady Sloat, and Carter Sloat; and a special friend Roy McKinzie of Centralia.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband: Joseph Laur, parents: William and Dollie Wilson, two sisters: Viola Wilson and Leona Baldridge, and two brothers-in-law: Carl Dieterich and Elmo Baldridge. Alice was a member of the former Mt. Zion Church in Ashley, IL.
