Mrs. Alice G. Moss
Wolcott – Alice Graveline Moss, of Pine Street, passed away August 10, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was the widow of Walter G. Moss.
Mrs. Moss was born in Waterbury, daughter of the late Solomon and Antoinette Graveline. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School.
Mrs. Moss also enjoyed playing golf in her early years, playing at the East Mountain Golf course in the Women’s league. She was a former member of the Wolcott Republican Town Committee and avid sponsor in local and national Republican politics. She was a Justice of the Peace in Wolcott for many years, retiring recently.
Alice is survived by many nieces, Lisa Bernier Fujikawa and her daughters, Tiffany and Alysa of Hawaii, Judi Bernier Vagt and her daughter Kelly of Naugatuck, whom Mrs. Moss raised after her sister Blanche passed away. She is also survived by a niece, Diana Schlander and her son Richard A. Poplis of Waterbury, nieces, Cheryl Koenemund and Ann Graveline and her daughter Melissa Graveline of Waterbury. Special thanks to Diane Bearce of Watertown, a great niece who has helped the family numerous times in times of need. Alice is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. She was pre deceased by seven brothers, Joseph, Raymond, Edward, James, Arthur, Eugene and Luke, five sisters, Ida, Rose, Florence, Nora and Blanche.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to all the medical staff at St. Mary’s Hospital and to Xavier 3 staff during Alice’s stay. Special thanks to Nurse Katherine and Dr. Shiek for their care and compassion given to our Aunt Alice.
