Alice Faye Scarbrough Ruffin was born November 15, 1953, in Meridian, MS to the late Mr. and Mrs. Leon and Alberta Scarbrough. She was the fifth child of seven. Alice was a proud alumni of the Meridian High School class of 1971.
Alice confessed her life to Christ at an early age and joined St. Peter U. M. Church in Marion, MS. She later moved her membership to Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Lisman, Alabama.
Alice began her young adult life working as a Nursing Aide at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS. She loved serving others and always greeted people with a warm smile and loving heart. In her later life, she was employed as a housekeeper for various families in Choctaw County until her health failed.
Alice was united in holy matrimony to James Earl Ruffin. She was blessed to birth six daughters; two preceded her in death. On March 6, 2015, Alice departed this earthly life and joined hands with her heavenly Father.
Alice was preceded in death by two daughters, Evoynne and Tamika Ruffin, and two brothers, Randolph and Marvin Scarbrough.
Alice leaves to cherish her memories: her husband, James Ruffin; four daughters, Kimberly (Richard) Thomas of Meridian, MS, Sharon (Johnny) Rudolph of Nashville, TN, Lisa Stevenson of Cromwell, AL, and Shelia Ruffin of Robinson, TX; one step-daughter, KimTasha (Jimmy) Rainer of Lisman, AL; nine grandchildren, Jarkeith, Richard, Daniel, Kyra, Kimbreshia, Jaliyah, Samantha, John, and Makynli; one great-grandson, Greyson; five brothers, Raymond (Sue) Scarbrough of Detroit, MI, Charles (Mary) Scarbrough, Robert (Ada) Scarbrough, and Willie (Glenda) Moore, all of Meridian, MS; two sisters, Elizabeth Ivy and Rose Marie Moore, both of Meridian, MS; one uncle, Robert Earl Kennon of Youngston, Ohio; one aunt, Ora Cotton of Youngston, Ohio; numerous brother and sister-in-laws; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends; one very special relative, JaTaura Deloach.
