Alice Donzelli, 60, of Harbert, Michigan died Monday morning, May 12, 2014 after a three year battle with cancer surrounded by her loving family. Alice and her twin brother, Alan were born August 24, 1953 to Norman and Margie (Lucker) Peterson in Niles, Michigan. After graduating from River Valley High School in 1972 she attended college in Kalamazoo where she worked as a librarian.

Alice was employed as an executive secretary at Akebono in Illinois. She married her sweetheart, Daniel Donzelli on September 24, 1988 in Lake Forest, Illinois, they recently celebrated their 25th anniversary. In 1993 Alice and Dan moved to Harbert where she became a homemaker. She was a naturalist, growing her own herbs, she was skilled at making her own oils and ointments, and spinning her own yarns. She was an avid bird enthusiast and animal lover, making a home for several rescue dogs over the years.

She was artistic, and reading was a passion. Alice also enjoyed sky diving, traveling, and cooking.Survivors include her husband, Daniel; mother Margie Peterson of Niles; sisters, Phyllis (Richard) Payne of Three Oaks, Michigan, Carolyn (Conrad) Smith of St. Joseph, Michigan, Marie Brooks of New Buffalo, Michigan; Rebecca (Chuck) Freitag of Three Oaks and her twin Alan Peterson of Baldwin, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and sister, Sally Layman.
