Alice L Baker, 72 of Grimes passed away Friday, Sept. 3, 2021. She was born Jan. 25, 1949 to Harold and Eunice Foland, the youngest to 3 brothers. She grew up in Grant City, Mo and later moved to Grimes, Iowa.
She was the proud mother of Diana L Devick, who preceded her in death, Shawn L Baker, and Lisa L Baker. The grandmother to 6 grandchildren, Anthony C Devick, Shelby N Graves, Noah R Meyers, Amy L Meyers, Austin L Baker and Ryan A Baker. Great grandmother of 5, Lauren, Cassie, Jordan, & Whitney Devick and Maverick J Graves who preceded her in death.
She worked in the insurance industry most of her life. After retirement, she worked for Home Instead where she loved visiting and taking care of others.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved spoiling her grandkids as much as she could! She always showed up to help family and friends, whether it may be to give someone a ride or keep them company during a hospital visit.
She loved going to church and worshiping. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and a sweet spirit that touched all those who knew her.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold and Eunice Foland, her three brothers, Burl, Leland, and Ted Foland. Her daughter, Diana L Devick, and her great-grandson, Maverick James Graves.
She is survived by her daughter Lisa Baker (Kelly Snyder) of Grimes, IA, Shawn Baker (Misty Burwell) of Clinton, IL, Grandkids Anthony Devick (Rachel Devick) of Van Meter, IA, Shelby Graves (Dalton Graves) of Grimes, IA , Noah Meyers of Grimes, IA, Amy Meyers of Grimes, IA, Austin Baker of Clinton, IL and Ryan Baker of Clinton, IL. Great Grandchildren Lauren, Cassie, Jordan, and Whitney Devick.
