Alice Barbara (Teller) Scholtz passed away at the age of 96 in Poway, California at home with family on April 15, 2018.

Alice was born in Cohoctah, MI on September 28, 1921.  She was one of four daughters of Robert C. Teller and Ruth L. (Gilland) Teller.  Her mother passed away when she was eight and she went to live with her paternal grandparents, Edward and Ella Mae Teller and later with her maternal grandparents, Hiram and Mary Gilland, both of Cohoctah, MI.

During her teen years, Alice lived with her father, R. C. Teller and step-mother Dorothy in Lansing, MI.

Alice had 3 children, Ruth, Patricia and William with former spouse Weston W. Tower.

She married 2nd husband, Carlos (Cody) M. Johnson on January 27, 1951 

The love of her life was 3rd husband, Robert Roy Scholtz whom she married on June 13, 1959 and with whom she spent 50 happy years.

Alice was a gentle, loving and totally supportive mother who always provided for her children.  They knew, without a doubt, she loved them unconditionally. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Alice enjoyed many hours of gardening on her property in Tawas City, MI.  She was an accomplished seamstress, an avid reader and a member of the Ladies Literary Club of Tawas City.

Surviving Alice is daughter, Ruth A. Simson of Poway, CA, son, William W. Tower of Punta Gorda, FL, sister, Roberta (Georgia) Yordy of Grand Rapids, MI and step-sister Norma Jean Phelps of Lansing, MI, along with 7 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.

Preceding her in death were husband Weston W. Tower, husband Carlos (Cody) M. Johnson, husband Robert R. Scholtz, daughter, Patricia A. Tower, step-brother, James (Jimmy) Teller, and sisters, Juanita Barton and Joyce Kirkland. 

She is the last of her kind and will be greatly missed.
