Algert Joseph Mordas, 88,

husband of Mary (Comeau) Mordas of Bristol passed away on October 31, 2008. Mr. Mordas was born on October 6, 1920 in Scranton, PA, a son of the late Michael and Victoria Mordas. Algert was a US Army veteran

of World War II and retired from New Departure in 1981. He was a renowned authority

on circus memorabilia and was a member of the Circus Association of America,

the Circus Historical Society, Circus World Museum and several other circus related organizations.

In addition to his wife, he

is survived by his three sons, Michael and his wife Ellen Mordas of Bristol,

Eugene Mordas of Terryville, and Thomas Mordas of Bristol; his two daughters,

Elaine and her husband Scott Burke of Bristol and Patricia Mordas of Ellington;

his sister, Helen Bannon of Scranton, PA; his grandchildren, Sarah, Christina,

Alyssa, Dalton and Wesley, great grandson, Forrest and several nieces and

nephews.  He was predeceased by his

sister, Blodwin Mordas.
