Alfretta Louise Jackson-Stephenson 82 Lake Charles LA formally from Knoxville IA went to heaven on May 30, 2014. She was born January 11, 1932 to Lester Lee and Katherine Lucille (King) Jackson. She married the late Paul Stephenson in 1975. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Lucille Jackson and her brother, Bobby Jackson of Derby IA. She graduated from nursing school and worked at the Veterans Hospital in Knoxville IA. She enjoyed doing crafts, playing the organ and her and Paul enjoyed traveling. She is survived by her son Ed Poole and wife Donna of Lake Charles LA; brother Richard Jackson and wife Corrine of Derby IA; step daughter Kathy Ewing; nieces Julie Page and husband Gene; Cherie Cerveny and husband Jason: nephew Tony Jackson and wife Lori. Granddaughters Christina Mitchell and Melissa Klett, grandsons Joel DeJoode and the late Mark DeJoode. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff at Emeritus of Lake Charles and Southern Hospice of Lake Charles for their support in her final days. A special thanks to Belinda Thibodeaux for your loving care you gave our mom in her final days.
