Alfredo Zaragoza- A coach to hundreds, an inspiration to many, and a friend to all- peacefully passed away November 21, 2022 at his home in Hobbs, Nm, surrounded by loved ones.

Born March 17, 1951, in Artesia, NM to Raul and Felicitas Zaragoza. Fred was a humorist from the beginning to the very end. He loved cracking a joke and always had something comical to say! Yet Fred was stern, whether he was coaching your soccer game or you were working with him pouring concrete, he made sure you were going to do it faultlessly, in other words, his way! Fred was happiest surrounded by his family, enjoying a nice BBQ, watching football or soccer games, or going to get pedi’s with the kids! He dearly loved his grandchildren, great granddaughters, and any extras we brought home along the way.

Fred will be remembered for his teasing jokes, his wildly entertaining stories, his powerful testimony, his unfailing work ethic, his contributions to the Hobbs Youth Soccer Assoc, his willingness to help anyone in need and his mischievous yet generous smile.

Alfredo was one of eight children, brothers Arturo Aguirre, Raul Zaragoza, Paul Zaragoza, Frank Zaragoza, and sisters Anita Maldonado, Mary Flores, and Lupe Zaragoza. He was blessed with daughters, Yvonne Zaragoza, Jessica Zaragoza, Jennifer Estrada, Mindy Garza and sons Jonathan Zaragoza, Alfredo Zaragoza Jr, Daniel Ramirez and Mike Ramirez. The best part of Fred were his many grandchildren, CheiAnne, Adrianna, Dakotah, Ashlynn, Jaelynn, Jaxx, Iziah, Nicholas, Sophia, Abraham, Victoria, Zaniah, Na’laya, Xavier, Leilani, Angelo, Jonathan, Cameron, Tatiana, Josiah, Jeremiah, Jayden, Kataleya, Esteban, Lucas, Marcos, Isaiah, Iliana, Ilijah, Maliena, and two great granddaughters Neiomi and Callie! His memory will be cherished by his extended family Paul and Dora Garcia, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, soccer family, lady friends, and business partners he met along the way. Preceded in death by his parents Raul and Felicitas and brother Arturo.
