Alfreda J. Varhol, 58, daughter of the late John and Bernice (Jakacki) Varhol, died on Tuesday, Sep. 6, 2016 at home. Born in New Britain she grew up here, moving to Plainville 20 years ago. Alfreda worked in the CCARC Workshop Program and was active in the Special Olympics for many years. She enjoyed bowling, dancing and all family get-togethers. Survivors include her two brothers and their wives: John J. and Debra K. Varhol of Gulfport, Mississippi, Peter J. and Laura A. Varhol of New Britian, several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, two uncles, her godfather, George B. Varhol and Steve Varhol both of New Hartford, her Aunt Catherine Morin of Colchester and her two housemates Paul and Matt, who were like family. Alfreda’s family would like to thank her caregivers at Norton Trail for all the care and compassion they gave to her over the years.
