Dr. Alfred W. Bull, age 82, of Geneva formerly of Hinsdale, passed away Friday May 31, 2013 at his home with family by his side.
He was born August 31, 1930 in Philadelphia, PA, and raised in LaPorte, IN, the son of Alfred and Gertrude (Hahn) Bull, who preceded him in death.
Alfred graduated from University of Chicago and then received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School at the age of 24. He served his country in the US Army Medical Corps. Later, Alfred became an anesthesiologist and worked at Hinsdale Sanitarium and Hospital for 24 years, serving as chair and treasurer of the Department of Anesthesiology. Alfred had been a member of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Geneva for 20 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Nanine (Thurber); children Cheryl Freuchtenicht of MI, Laura Bull of CA, Arthur (Lisa) of MA and Andrew of Geneva; grandchildren Ethan Bull-Vulpe, Kathryn Bull, Jack Bull, Melanie Foster, Cory Rocque; great grandson Denzel Wilson; sister Joyce Cook of IN; and many dear nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be dearly missed by all those whose lives he touched.
