Alfred S. Rutkowski Jr. 65, of Peru, passed away February 22, 2015 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru.
Mr. Rutkowski was born February 28, 1949 in Peru to Alfred and Helen (Narczewski) Rutkowski. He was a graduate of LaSalle-Peru High School. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru. He was a founding member of the Peru Lions Club where he served as Tail Twister, Zone Chairman and was a Foundation Fellow. He loved cars and worked as an auto mechanic. His day was not complete without going out for a cup of coffee with a friend.
Survivors include his fiancée, Charmaine Phillips of Peru; his son, Alfred G. Rutkowski III of Peru; two step-children, David (fiancée Sherida Williams) Phillips of Kentucky and Heidi (Matthew) Lankford of Louisiana; two grandchildren, Gabriella Rose and Trevor Joseph Rutkowski; three step-grandchildren, Olivia, Kadence and Steven Phillips; two brothers, Ronald (Barb) Rutkowski of LaSalle and Edward (Janice) Rutkowski of Spring Valley and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
