Alfred Mayo was born on August 21, 1949 to the union of the late Charlie Mayo and
Mamie Jones. When he was young, his mother later married the late Richmond Jones Jr. Alfred

In 1969, Alfred graduated from Carter-Parramore High School and enlisted in the Armed
Forces. He was stationed at Fort Hood, TX in 1974; where he met his lovely wife Alma of 46
years.
Germany and Vietnam, ISG Mayo retired and made Hinesville, GA home.

Alfred continued working after retirement and fulfilled many different job roles; Liberty
County Sheriff’ Department (Deputy), Midway Nursing Home (Nurse Assistant), Chemtall Inc.
(Security), Liberty Labs (Lab Manager), Bail Bondsman, Public Notary, and Project Manager.
He was a member of Agape Christian Fellowship, Inc., and was the overseer of the audio/video
system.
Alfred was a hardworking, committed and dedicated man. He was also funny, witty and
loving.
loved by many, and his legacy will live on.

Armstead of Quincy, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother: Mamie Jones; stepfather: Richmond Jones Jr.;
and sister: Mary Darby Scarbough
