Alfred J Lambrecht, 96, died peacefully at his home in Littleton, CO. on November 23rd, 2022 of natural causes.
He was born April 26th, 1926 as the 9th and last child of Casper & Monica Lambrecht in Denver, CO. He was nicknamed by his family their “Little Owl”. A World War II veteran, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy after graduation from St. Joseph High School and was stationed onboard the USS Ashtabula as a Radioman 1st Class serving in the Yellow Sea until the end of the war.
He graduated from Regis College and went on to the University of Northern Colorado earning a Master’s Degree in English Literature. He was a high school English teacher and Counselor with Aurora Public Schools for 35 years until his retirement in 1988.
After graduating college in 1950, he married the love of his life Shirley M Ruggles, a marriage that would last 64 years and bring 4 children, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren into their lives.
He deeply loved and was beloved by all of his family. A devoutly religious man of faith, he was a teacher, writer, philosopher, avid outdoorsman, adventurer, swimmer, bicyclist, and devoted family man, he passed these loves of his along to his children as their foundation in life. He always shared a warm smile and joyful sense of humor with everyone he met and knew.
He is survived by his children Christopher J Lambrecht, Kimberly M Glass, and Eric N Lambrecht.
He was preceded in death by wife, Shirley M Lambrecht, and daughter Susan A Lambrecht.
