Alfred Doyle “Teeny” Fogleman, 76, of Burlington passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 7, 2019 having courageously fought the battle of liver cancer as he continued to do the Lord’s work.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Martha “Cookie” Sawyer Fogleman, who survives and the son of Irvin Lee Fogleman and Eva Ray Roach Fogleman, both deceased.
Al served in the National Guard, worked for 20 years in retailing at J.C. Penney and as manager of Belk in Greensboro. He was the owner/operator of Sawyer Exterminating for 32 years and loved everyone like family. Al was a vital part of the St. Paul’s United Methodist Church having served in numerous positions as Administrative Council Chair, United Methodist Men’s President, Financial Chair, Sunday School Teacher, choir member and in so many other positions throughout the past 43 years.
In addition to his wife of the home, Al is survived by three daughters, Kimberly Davis of Burlington, Jennifer Dusenbury of Clayton, Tracy Pitts and husband Rodney of Burlington; two brothers, Steven Fogleman and wife Carrie of Swepsonville and Donald Fogleman and wife Gayle of Burlington; a sister-in-law, Linda Fogleman of Burlington; five grandchildren, Elizabeth Joyner, Joshua Pitts, Noah Brown, Abigail Dusenbury and Isabella Dusenbury; and two great-grandchildren, Olivia and Madeline Joyner.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Billy Fogleman, Richard Fogleman and Bobby Fogleman; and one sister, Betty Fogleman Phillips.
